First Official Images & Teaser Trailer For Kathryn Bigelow's 'Zero Dark Thirty'
Despite boasting a huge cast -- Joel Edgerton, Jessica Chastain, Edgar Ramirez, Kyle Chandler, Mark Strong, Chris Pratt, Jason Clarke, Harold Perrineau, Nash Edgerton, Jennifer Ehle, Fares Fares and more -- and focusing on the of the biggest moments in recent U.S. (and world) history, details on Kathryn Bigelow's "Zero Dark Thirty" have kept tight under lock and key, and even with the first teaser trailer and official images landing today, not many questions will be answered.
Running just over a minute long and featuring as much graphics as actual footage from the film, the voiceover heavy spot keeps the stars in the background and the story upfront. All told, thus far -- and admittedly, we don't have much to go on -- this more or less looks like a straight procedural although one that has one of the most wanted men in recent times as the target. The brief trailer also suggests that the steps leading to the intel that gave the U.S. government his location will also form a crucial part of the narrative. And as for that title? "Zero Dark Thirty" is military speak for 30 minutes after midnight (roughly the time Seal Team 6 landed; Osama Bin Laden was killed shortly after 1 AM on May 2, 2011). But damn if this didn't raise a few little goosebumps.
