New 'Hunger Games' Photo: Katniss and Peeta ready to set the Games on fire

Everyone who has read Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games has a specific mental image of what this world and its characters should look like, especially certain crucial scenes like the opening ceremonies of the Games. Well, bravo, Gary Ross and company. In this exclusive photo from the moments just before their introduction, Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) readies a final flaming flourish to Peeta and Katniss’s black costumes. “This is one of those moments where Cinna’s character syncs up with the creativity of our costume designer Judianna Makovsky,” says Ross.

'Red Tails': Rising star David Oyelowo talks George Lucas' decades-in-the-making Tuskegee Airmen epic

This past August, David Oyelowo appeared in two movies that opened within the same week. On the surface, not a remarkable feat. Except when you consider that the two movies in question happened to be among 2011’s biggest films: The Help and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. 5 ways new 'Footloose' could out-dance original

Don't look now, but Hollywood is currently in the process of taking every movie you ever loved and making it again, only dumber, flashier, and probably starring Taylor Lautner.

One of the latest examples to hit theaters, Craig Brewer's update of the "dancing teens defy town elders" classic "Footloose." The kneejerk reaction with any remake is to say it'll be awful. It's violating our childhood! But with this particular project, perhaps a pause: have you watched the original "Footloose" lately? The whole thing? You might come away from it with a kernel of hope for the remake.

BIUTIFUL’s Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu Attached to Direct THE REVENANT for Warner Bros.

Three-time Oscar nominee Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu isn’t exactly a director known for picking up studio work for hire. He’s not the type of guy who takes meetings to discuss the latest board game adaptation. No, Inarritu is an intensely personal filmmaker responsible for such dark, punishing dramas as Amores Perros, Babel, and Biutiful. All of his work to date has been crafted by Inarritu from the screenplay up with a group of regular collaborators. That’s why it’s odd to hear that he’s signed on to direct a film for Warner Brothers based on a pre-existing property.
