    Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures are teaming up with director Brian Helgeland for “42,” the powerful story of Jackie Robinson, the legendary baseball player who broke Major League Baseball’s color barrier when he joined the roster of the Brooklyn Dodgers. “42″ will star Academy Award(R) nominee Harrison Ford (“Witness”) as the innovative Dodger’s general manager Branch Rickey, the MLB executive who first signed Robinson to the minors and then helped to bring him up to the show, and Chadwick Boseman (“The Express”) as Robinson, the heroic African American who was the first man to break the color line in the big leagues.

    I do! its different to "learn" about the past, when a movie is done you get more insight and meaning from the experience...

    Hello. Just thought I would respond to you directlyh. I love the story lines and of course the sport that are being play in between. Most sports biopics tell you something that you might not have otherwise never know about the main and supporting characters.

    It was great to see Harrison Ford pull off this roll. I read that Brian Helgeland was hesitant for Ford to play the role b/c he represents such iconic characters as Indiana Jones. I'd have to say though, that after the introductory scene with Ford as Branch Rickey, I completely forgot he was anything but the Brooklyn Dodgers executive. Persistence made this role happen for Ford. He wanted it, and Im glad he pushed for it and Heigeland said yes. Great movie.
