Robert Pattinson Chose 'Where To Climax' In 'Cosmopolis'

When MTV News tasked the stars of the upcoming "Cosmopolis" with summarizing their existential drama in 10 seconds or less, director David Cronenberg probably did it best, saying, "A billionaire, in his limo, goes crosstown Manhattan along 47th Street from the east side to the west side to get a haircut."

And while it's true that mogul Eric Packer (played by Robert Pattinson) spends the majority of the film in the confines of an automobile, the ride is anything but boring.

New Trailer for David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis Starring Robert Pattinson

A new trailer for David Cronenberg‘s Cosmopolis has gone online. The plot centers on wealthy businessman (Robert Pattinson) who loses his fortune in a single day, and this trailer does a good job of conveying that basic plotline. But as we’ve seen from previous trailers, the flick looks far stranger and unwieldy than such a simple premise. This new trailer feels like it’s trying to smooth out the edges of an insane-looking flick.

The film opens in Canada this weekend and the U.K. next week, but don't worry U.S. fans, you won't have to wait too long.

New U.K. Poster and Trailer Arrive For David Cronenberg's 'Cosmopolis'

Hot on the heels of the announcement that David Cronenberg’s wildly anticipated adaptation of Don DeLillo’s “Cosmopolis,” starring Robert Pattinson as a disaffected non-vampire millionaire on a very strange 24-hour odyssey through Manhattan, has secured a June 15th release date in England, we now get a British trailer and poster for the picture. Neither are terribly new, keeping with the already-seen promotional materials. But that doesn’t mean we’re any less stoked.

Photos of The Day: Robert Pattinson Recreates Classic David Cronenberg Films

Now that Twilight is almost over, Robert Pattinson is on the verge of being able to move on to the next phase of his career — presumably one in which he won’t be tied to a franchise he evidently despises. David Cronenberg‘s new film Cosmopolis could end up being the anti-Twilight, and Pattinson is embracing chances to promote it.

First Clip From Cronenberg's Cosmopolis Amps Up The Weirdness

What are we supposed to make of Cosmopolis? It's the new film from David Cronenberg, which automatically gets one segment of the film-loving world excited, and it's also the new film starring Robert Pattinson, which gets a much bigger segment of the world in general excited. But from what we've seen so far it's pretty much nothing like what we've seen from either of them lately-- Cronenberg is coming off the stuffy period drama A Dangerous Method, Pattinson is coming off the Twilight franchise, and Cosmopolis looks absolutely nothing like either of them.

Two Full Trailers for David Cronenberg’s COSMOPOLIS Starring Robert Pattinson

Last month, we showed you a brief trailer for David Cronenberg‘s adaptation of Don DeLillo‘s Cosmopolis, which featured a potentially surprising and exciting turn from star Robert Pattinson. In the film, Pattinson plays a newlywed billionaire who ends up losing his bride and his billions in a single day. Two full trailers have now gone online, and Cronenberg is the star of both. Pattinson still looks good, but these trailers show off a David Cronenberg surrealism we haven’t seen in some time. And judging by these trailers, it’s very good to have it back.
