If it wasn't for "Hey Man" this movie would not of been worth watching. We did not like all the singing out in every situation. Very few parts were funny.

Technically, considering that they called it a rock opera, there wasn't enough singing. You should focus on seeing movies that are more your type of movie and write a review about those ones.

Um, duh? If you weren't expecting a musical, you didn't do your homework. Perhaps it would be more fair to rate it based on what it was supposed to be, not what you thought it was. *smh*

Even my 10yo knew it was a movie with "a lot of mommy & daddy's music"

Agree. this is a musical movie. I love 80s music. LIKE the movie. Great.

I agree. Yes it is a musical, but the music in the musical needs to propell the story line. It needs to have a purpose. Sometimes in the movie, it did that. Most of the time, it felt like songs were just thrown in randomly because the crowd likes the music.

Just because it's a musical on broadway doesn't mean it works in the original form on screen. Sometimes it is better relayed on stage. I am a huge fan of musicals and I even thought the music seemed out of place a lot.

I think there was to much talking in this musical It was a great show I love the stage production and I love this movie.

The whole point of a musical is to be filled with singing! You clearly did not know what you were going to see.

THis movie is based on a Broadway musical. That is like saying there was too much singing in Westside Story, Chicago, Dream Girls, Rent, Moulin Rouge. This is mostly a review based on your lack of knowledge than the movie. There are two types of theaters. There is the Theatre and the Theater try exploring both. How and if you don't like signing do see les miserables. Its also a musical

Even a musical can have too much singing. Like with suspense movies, Hitchcock said you have to give the audience a break from the suspense occasionally, or it becomes too much.

Exactly! It is a musical, if you didn't want "too much singing" maybe you shouldn't have seen a MUSICAL... Watch the previews before you go to a movie next time...
