Screen Gems today trotted out a Comic-Con god in Sam Raimi, who dealt the kind of catnip that fanboys love. Raimi was there with Neil Druckmann, creator of the Naughty Dog game The Last Of Us, to talk about how that PlayStation 3 survival The-Last-of-Ushorror action game is being turned into a feature with Raimi producing and Druckmann now writing the screenplay. Screen Gems President Clint Culpepper, whose previous big vidgame-to-movie transfer was Resident Evil, basically has given over big creative controls to Druckmann in the movie transfer. Source URL:

Fox Pulls a Few Stunts for Comic-Con Fans

20th Century Fox issued a stunt heavy panel at Comic-Con, bringing Biz Markie out to rap “Just a Friend,” casting a random member of the audience to fly to London to shoot a movie role, and announcing a last minute screening Friday night of “Let’s Be Cops” in San Diego. Opting for quantity, the studio highlighted upcoming films “Maze Runner,” “Hitman: Agent 47,” “Book of Life,” and “The Kingsman: Secret Service” in addition to “Let’s Be Cops,” screening first look trailers and extended footage for each. Legendary’s 2016 Mystery Film Revealed: A King Kong Skull Island Movie

So much for those Namor rumors tied to a 2016 event picture! There were more details coming from Legendary’s Comic-Con panel this afternoon in San Diego, including footage of Michael Mann’s “Black Hat,” Duncan Jones’ “Warcraft,” and teaser footage and announcements from Gareth Edwards’ “Godzilla 2.” Perhaps most notably, Legendary announced plans to release a new King Kong movie.
