Steven Spielberg Boards Religious Drama ‘Edgardo Mortara’

Though he’s still mulling what his next directing gig will be, Steven Spielberg has added another project to his development slate: a religious drama titled “The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara,” written by “Lincoln” and “Munich” scribe Tony Kushner. Spielberg plans to produce the drama as a potential directing vehicle, which would be a co-production between DreamWorks and the Weinstein Co.

After making a name for yourself in music, what was the genesis of becoming an actor?

RZA: I didn’t really think about being an actor, but Harvey Weinstein called my house. He said, “RZA, do my movie and you’ll have a new career”. Those were his exact words. And he was right. During the process of making Derailed, I felt a freedom that I haven’t felt in a long time.

Mrs. Doubtfire 2 Is In The Works

Chris Columbus' Mrs. Doubtfire was such a gigantic hit in 1993 it's kind of amazing that we don't already have a sequel. Made for a paltry $25 million (I guess it's not that expensive to cover Robin Williams in prosthetics and make-up) the film managed to make not only $219 million domestically, but an additional $222 million at the foreign box office - totaling nearly $450 million internationally. It would seem that somebody over at Fox finally took a look at these numbers, because now part two is on the way.
