Synopsis: "Paranormal Activity" is a terrifying supernatural thriller featuring shocking footage of a demonic haunting. Katie and Micah were enjoying a happy, carefree life. Their future looked promising until bizarre events began occurring at night. Katie was no stranger to paranormal phenomena - she had been stalked by a malevolent entity since childhood, and she feared that it had followed her to their new home. They purchased a video camera to find out what was happening at night as they slept. Over the course of three weeks in September & October of 2006, they ran nightly surveillance and captured indelible proof on home video, which has been edited into the feature film "Paranormal Activity."

Blair Witch but different characters in a different setting. The high pitched squels from the audience were more frightening than the movie. Maybe I would have liked it more if I didn't see Pandorum immediantly prior to this one.

I thought that perhaps I had been seated in the Y-7 screening of the film. Where's the intense fear... What is so frightening to me is that we all bought into the hype...not that good of a horror flick.

Not sure if this movie is a horror flick or a comedy. Totally laughable! Bloggers were paid to indorse this, I'm sure. Only regret is I wasted 10 bucks and 90 minutes. But the marketing strategy for this movie-- grade A 5 stars. The marketing sucked me right in and sucked the money right out of my pocket! So diappointed......

Not a great movie. Particularly if you've ever seen a truly scary film. But much better than "Where the Wild Things Are." The actress made me think of the lead female character of Pam in the TV series "The Office" so couldn't get that out of my head. Would have been better if a major studio HAD gotten hold of it and re-shot it.

im reading the other reviews and wondering if everyone watched the same movie i just seen. a total waste of money. should have waited for the video and watched it at home where i could have shut it off at any time. there was so many lulls and who wants to watch a couple argue. i get that sitting on my porch. the people in the theater stood up at the end and booed. would not recommend this movie

In some way reminded me of the Blair Witch Project. It was scary enough, and suspenseful but by the end it became too predictable

I can't remember the last time I was this scared watching a movie. Every bedroom scene had me on the edge of my seat. Great movie!

Scenes I disliked is that it took so long for the scary parts to show.
Scenes I liked is how the whole concept of making the audience figure out what is going to happen next but until the end- everyone thought otherwise but it was definitely a total shocker no-one would have guessed would happen on the end. Overall, it was a good movie

Omg, this movie was awesome. I have seen various other scary movies previous to this one, but no one tops Paranormal Activity. I couldn't even sleep last night of how terrified I was. I was really engaged through out the movie. It wasn't like your regular horror flick. It was more intense and more relatable. I found myself yelling at the screen whenever Micah would make a suggestion the might agitate the demon. I felt that I was actually living it with them. The ending was really unexpected, but it scared me half to death!

The movie was great.. Although it was supposed to be a horror film, my guest and I and several other viewers were laughing throughout the entire movie. You could tell when scenes were clipped together and the ending was not something a real deamon would do. The movie had its moments when I was caught off guard that it made me jump but never scream like other viewers... Other then those few details...more

Every scene in the bedroom was fantastic. There was a constant growing tension and terror. The scenes toward the end were truly truly scary.
The Audience was horrible. Very talkative and inconsiderate.

The movie started slowly, in hindsight, but I was engrossed most of the time. My favorite scene would have to be when they left the camera in the living room with the ouija board on the table and the demon communicated and then lit the board on fire.

I liked every scary moment throughout the movie. I liked the part when Katie was dragged out of her bed. I also like it in the end when Micah here's Katie scream and runs downstairs then she throws him against the wall upstairs.

I liked the progression of creepy events. Even the non-scary parts were intriguing because of the realistic humor. There were no unnecessary or uninteresting scenes.

The ending was amazing, I'm still getting creeped out. I really enjoyed the two lead performances. Although there were script issues, the great direction makes up for it. All the sleeping scenes were awesome.

I'm a huge horror film fan, I've been watching them since I was born. I loved the use of the camera and the real-feel. Definitely tops my ex-scariest movie. Paranormal Activity interacted with the audience wonderfully. People were screaming in unison. I was screaming, and I've never screamed from a horror film before... so that must mean something.
