Baz Luhrmann May Get Prince, Lady Gaga For Great Gatsby Soundtrack

Baz Luhrmann is back in the laboratory to tinker with his adaptation of The Great Gatsby now that Warner Bros. has delayed the film’s opening from December to May 10, 2013. And one of the places where he’s likely to tweak his finished product is the soundtrack, where track selections can drastically change the mood of a given scene. Which artists will Luhrmann be contemplating for his Gatsby score as the movie races through post-production?

According to Adelaide Clemens, Prince and Lady Gaga are on the docket for Luhrmann, and likely are going to be part of the Gatsby soundtrack. The actress plays Catherine in the pending film, and spoke with The Playlist about her involvement while also promoting Silent Hill 3D. Of Gatsby, Clemens said:

"They have some new music that's going to be added to the film. Some pretty huge artists have approached Baz and are writing songs for the film, and I don't think Warner Bros. are going to turn down Prince and Lady Gaga knocking down your door. … I don't know if I'm allowed to say that."
