Bryan Singer Confirms ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ Suggests Connection to Other X-Men Films

As Simon Kinberg has been at work scripting a sequel to X-Men: First Class for producer Bryan Singer and returning director Matthew Vaughn, speculation has run rampant that the film would feature the ‘Days of Future Past’ storyline, which originally appeared in the pages of Uncanny X-Men in 1981. Domain name registrations and other hints have pointed towards the inclusion of the plotline that features an alternate future and loads of dead fan-favorite characters.

Now Singer confirms that the film bears that title, and suggests that we might even see some characters from the first X-Men film series show up.

Asked about the First Class sequel, Bryan Singer told IGN,

Bryan Singer: I can say it’s being written right now and it will start shooting in a few months. It’s going to be very ambitious. It’s called Days of Future Past and it deals with aspects of that comic but also some very new things. I just don’t want to give any of it away. Matthew Vaughn will be directing and I’m totally excited about it.
