Christoph Waltz cast as Gorbachev; Michael Douglas to play Reagan
LONDON -- Christoph Waltz has signed on to play Mikhail Gorbachev in Mike Newell's "Reykjavik."
The Austrian actor will take on the role of the former Soviet leader opposite Michael Douglas as former president Ronald Reagan. The film tells the story of the famous meeting in Iceland's capital city between the two premiers that signalled the end of the Cold War.
"I feel very fortunate to have two such masters to portray the men who brought about the end of the third great war of the 20th century," said Newell.
