'Country Strong' Director Boarding 'Endless Love' Remake
Shana Feste, who wrote and directed 2010’s Country Strong, is in talks to rewrite and direct Endless Love for Universal Pictures.
The project is based on the 1979 novel of the same name by Scott Spencer was turned into a 1981 movie that starred Brooke Shields and Martin Hewitt.
Josh Safran wrote an earlier draft of the screenplay.
Love told the story of two teens all-consuming love for each other. Things go wrong when the boy turns obsessive and concocts a plan to ingratiate himself with the girl’s family by setting her house on fire. The 1981 movie helped make Shields a star and is remembered for its title song by Diana Ross.
