If "Selma" was a horror film, it'd be "Detroit." It's a harrowing, terrifying and brutal examination of the past and how it parallels the political and social landscape of today. Bigelow's direction is some of the best of her career. The cast is incredible with Poulter being the standout.

It watched like a book. Very deliberate plot development. I think the movie would have added a lot to the plot if it developed the characters within it a little deeper. Very poignant and relevant to the current climate of today with the police. Overall, good but not great movie.
